Student External Competition Reward and Recognition Policy
Article 1: Purpose
This policy is established to encourage students of the Academy to actively participate in external competitions across academic, artistic, athletic, technological, and other diverse fields. It aims to showcase students’ talents and learning outcomes, while enhancing student confidence, strengthening parental recognition, and increasing the overall visibility of the Academy through public recognition and reward mechanisms.
This policy is guided by the core values of encouraging participation, recognizing effort, and celebrating achievements, and serves as an important support system for promoting diverse learning and external engagement at Hankel International Academy.
Article 2: Eligibility
This policy applies to all enrolled students of the Academy, regardless of program, grade level, or mode of study.
Article 3: Definition of External Competitions
“External competitions” refer to publicly organized contests, evaluations, or exhibitions hosted by external entities, including government agencies, private organizations, academic institutions, corporations, or international organizations.
Competition formats may include, but are not limited to, individual or team competitions, online or in-person events, submission-based contests, and performance evaluations.
Article 4: Eligibility and Participation Types
Students who participate in external competitions and receive awards, selections, recognitions, or demonstrated achievements may apply under this policy.
Participation types are categorized as follows:
Academy-nominated or assigned participation
Students recommended, selected, or registered by the Academy, or representing the Academy in competitions.Independently registered (Academy name indicated)
Students who independently register and include the Academy’s name in application materials, participant lists, or award certificates.Independently registered (Academy name not indicated)
Students who independently register but are unable to include the Academy’s name due to organizer requirements, system limitations, or competition format may still apply.
To encourage students and parents to share learning achievements, the Academy adopts a flexible and supportive approach and will not reject applications based solely on formal requirements.
Article 5: Forms of Rewards and Recognition
Rewards under this policy may include one or more of the following:
Public recognition
Honor records and external exposure
Monetary awards or equivalent incentives
Article 6: Public Recognition and Honor Display
To acknowledge student achievements and promote positive learning role models, approved accomplishments may be recognized through:
Award presentations or acknowledgments during school assemblies, ceremonies, or public events
Publication on the Academy’s honor roll, official website, social media platforms, or promotional materials
Inclusion in students’ learning portfolios or achievement records
The Academy may invite students and parents to provide photos, videos, or reflections. With written consent, these materials may be published to showcase student achievements and allow their accomplishments to be seen by a wider audience.
Article 7: Monetary Award Guidelines
To encourage participation and recognize achievements, monetary awards or equivalent incentives may be granted based on competition level and performance.
Awards are incentive-based and are not considered salary, compensation, or subsidies
Amounts are determined based on competition level, achievement, participation type, and overall impact
The maximum award per case is generally capped at NTD 5,000
Individual Competition Award Standards
International / National Level
1st Place (Champion): NTD 5,000
2nd Place (Runner-up): NTD 3,000
3rd Place: NTD 2,000
Merit / Honorable Mention: NTD 500
Regional / Local Level
1st Place (Champion): NTD 2,000
2nd Place (Runner-up): NTD 1,500
3rd Place: NTD 1,000
Merit / Honorable Mention: NTD 300
For team awards, the total prize may be allocated and evenly distributed among participating students.
Article 8: Recognition of Instructors and Support Staff
Teachers or staff who provide substantial guidance or support to students in external competitions may receive public acknowledgment, administrative recognition, or special incentives in appreciation of their professional contributions.
Article 9: Application and Review Process
Application Period
Students or parents may submit applications after results are announced. Applications are generally accepted within the academic term. To encourage reporting, no strict deadline is imposed.Required Documents
Required materials include award certificates, descriptions of achievements, photos, or related links. Submissions may be made in physical or digital format.Review Process
Applications will be compiled by the Student Affairs Office and approved based on a supportive principle. If necessary, cases may be reviewed in administrative meetings.
Article 10: Funding Source
Funding for this policy will be supported by the Academy’s annual budget, educational programs, or related project funds.
Article 11: Implementation and Amendments
This policy shall be implemented upon approval by the Academy’s administrative meeting and official announcement by the head of the institution. The same procedure applies to any amendments.
